A CLASSIC PUBLIC PLAZA

Three fountains, enhanced park, new green space, one amphitheater seating area, redesigned roundabout, improved traffic flow and safe pedestrian and cyclist routes.

WET’s plan for Fountains of Musica extends the footprint of LeQuire’s sculpture beyond the confines of the Music Row Roundabout at Division Street and Sixteenth Avenue South. With a trio of distinct water features, WET’s design unifies currently disjointed spaces and invites participants into an expanded civic space.

THE CENTRAL FOUNTAIN
A spectacular rhythmic water display around Musica features jets soaring over 60 feet into the air, with ever-changing choreography that joyfully echoes the dancing figures. Elegant lighting at night will make a bold and dramatic statement.

CASCADING WATERS ON DIVISION STREET
Announcing the excitement of the central fountain, waters cascading down Division Street will build anticipation.

THE FOUNTAIN IN OWEN BRADLEY PARK
A serene mist-filled oasis surrounded by updated green space and seating areas, welcoming all.

PLACE-MAKING

Similar to the awe-inspiring power of majestic waterfalls that burst forth from rock throughout middle Tennessee, Fountains of Musica will be a transformative experience.

The Fountains of Musica Foundation is partnering with Metro departments, the mayor’s office, BMI, the Midtown Business Improvement District (MBID), the Civic Design Center and the public to redesign the roundabout, animate Owen Bradley Park and create a sanctuary in the heart of the city.

BMI, whose building overlooks Musica, pledged to create an expanded green space and build amphitheater style seating on its own property, inviting visitors to sit in the shade to experience the beauty of the fountains.

Upon completion, the fountains will be entrusted to Metro Nashville. This gift to the people of Nashville reminds us that public art is essential to public life.

Fountains of Musica advances Nashville’s long-term goals of strengthening the public realm, reinforcing civic identity and elevating the cultural life of the heart of Nashville. Like Rome’s Trevi Fountain, Fountains of Musica will embody both artistic and cultural pride.
